I paid ~$180 to have an air intake hose installed. That was in addition to the almost $100 mark-up cost on the spare part.

For that not inconsiderable sum I had a piece of underbonnet trim damaged, that will soon break off entirely, and look rather unsightly. The technician involved would've been aware of the damage they caused.

I simply didn't have the time to perform the job myself, and they presented as quite professional, with decent reviews. This is why I'm sharing my experience.

All rather disappointing and as such, I wouldn't recommend.

I've been using Newman Mechanical for a few years now and they have always provided great service overall. Friendly customer service, they're fairly priced and provide clear transparency on standard works costs but also additional works that the vehicle may require. I'm happy to support an independent local business like Newman Mechanical over the pushy franchise workshops in the area that can charge $$$.

The team at Newman Mechanical have been absolutely fantastic.

They looked after us and our 90 series Prado and clearly love what they do (check out their instagram!) and we felt like we were always in good hands. Very transparent and fair about pricing, taking the time to explain what is necessary and what can be done at a later date.

We’ve moved down to Southern Gold Coast and gutted that we’ve had to find a new place.

I couldn’t be happier with the service from Newman Mechanical. Ian and the team deliver top-quality workmanship and genuine reliability. Worth every one of these 5 stars. Have tried several car service places and Newman Mechanical are by far the best. Very accommodating, professional, friendly, timely, thorough and knowledgeable. Car service was completed in a timely way, communication was great. No rip offs, just good service and attention to detail. My car was rather grubby when I dropped it off (sorry guys) and when I collected it she was clean and fresh and running so sweet. Many thanks. I’ll be a regular customer from here on!

Ian and the team went so far above and beyond for my car, taking the battery apart, calling around the country for specialised parts and driving the car around for hours to diagnose and test. Having them resolve it was even more of a relief after the manufacturer (Nissan) completely washed their hands of me! Very reasonable pricing and a great small business to support. Five stars, 10/10 recommend

I have taken Land Cruiser 80 to Newman Mechanical numerous times now when I needed the experts to do the work that I couldn’t do.

Trust me when I say, I love my car, and it took a lot of research to find a place where I was confident my car would be looked after. Dannyel provides amazing customer service and Ian and his team are absolute mechanical wizards. There’s a reason this place has only 5 star reviews. Thanks guys!!

It is so hard to find an honest and trustworthy mechanic these days!! Let alone a whole team when you move interstate and don’t know anybody. The price is fair, the work well worth paying for and the service is beyond satisfactory. I’m not a big fan of leaving my vehicles overnight anywhere I don’t know, but I can easily say I trust Dean and the boys. Its now going on 4 years that I’ve been taking my cars there and the consistency is impeccable. Asking for ball park figures is almost unpredictable as well but they have always been accurate with estimates and will consult with you regardless to ensure you achieve whatever the best outcome is for your safety and budget. My car always comes back cleaner that when it went in as well: And that’s complimentary. Can’t recommend them enough.
